PowerPoint presentations are useful business tools for displaying information in a multimedia format. Using PowerPoint you can show both text and graphics in a smooth, easily controlled format. Adding MP3 songs to a PowerPoint presentation allows you to extend the capability of the display with music. Once the MP3 is placed into your PowerPoint slideshow, some editing of the song may be required in order to fit your needs.

Open the PowerPoint slideshow that you wish to embed the MP3 into.

Select the slide in which you wish the song to begin playing.

Select the “Insert” tab from the main ribbon menu on top of the PowerPoint application. Click the “Audio” option, and select “Audio from File.” Use the file browser to highlight and load the desired MP3 file into the slide. The Audio Tools menu will open.

Select the “Trim Audio” button from the Audio Tools tab to edit the length of the MP3 file. Use the sliders on either side of the audio file timeline to select the start and end time of the file, or manually input the start and end times into the indicated boxes.
